Belarus’ agricultural output up by 1.9% in Q1 2018

MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) - The agricultural output in Belarus’ enterprises of all categories in current prices reached Br2.493 billion in Q1 2018, up by 1.9% from the same period of last year in comparable prices, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.

The agricultural enterprises manufactured r2.493 billion worth of products, up 2.4% versus Q1 2017.

The enterprises of all categories grew 0.457 million tonnes of live weight of livestock and poultry (up 1.4%), 1.732 million tonnes of milk (up 2.7%), 801.7 million eggs (99.2% as against Q1 2017).

As for agricultural organizations, livestock and poultry output amounted to 0.434 million tonnes of live weight, up by 2% versus January-March 2017. Milk output made up 1.685 million tonnes, up 3.1% from the same period a year earlier. The agricultural companies produced 708.8 million eggs (99% as against Q1 2017).

As of 1 April 2018, the cattle population amounted to 4.3 million animals, up 0.9% from the same period a year prior, including 1.4 million cows (a 0.3% increase).
