MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) - The output by all types of agricultural companies in Belarus in current prices reached Br5.9 billion in H1 2018, up by 1.7% from the same period last year in comparable prices, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.
Agricultural enterprises produced Br5.7 billion worth of products, up 2.2% as against H1 2017.
Forage harvesting is in full swing. As of 1 July, agricultural enterprises produced 2.3 million tonnes of forage grasses, up by 6.3% compared with the same date a year before. Some 7.1 centners of forage per livestock unit was produced (6.7 centners as of 1 July 2017).
Enterprises of all types produced 905,900 tonnes of livestock and poultry (live weight), which was up by 0.3% over H1 2017. The output of milk was 3.68 million tonnes (up 1.5%). As for agricultural organizations, livestock and poultry output amounted to 865,600 tonnes (live weight), up by 0.7% as against H1 2017. Milk output made up 3.538 million tonnes, up 1.9% from the same period a year earlier.
As of 1 July 2018, cattle population amounted to 4.3 million head, up 0.2% from the same period a year prior.
