MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – Belarus' export of agricultural and food products in Q1 2020 went up by 9.8% year-on-year, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
“In January-March 2020, Belarus' agricultural and food export rose by 9.8%, the country supplied $1.4 billion worth of products abroad. Revenue increased by $125.1 million over the same period of last year. Export of meat and meat products went up by 10.9% to total $239.7 million, milk and dairy products – by 14.8% ($614.7 million), potatoes – by 13.3% ($15.2 million),” the press service said.
Almost all regions of the country reported an increase in exports. Export to Russia grew by 4.4%, to the CIS countries excluding Russia – by 24.7%, Asia and Oceania – by 2.2 times, America and the Caribbean – by 52.4%, the EU – by 54.3%. “Shipments to the Chinese market soared by 2.4 times. In general, exports to non-CIS countries increased by 41.5% over the same period of 2019,” the press service added.
In January-March 2020, Belarus delivered food to 83 countries (72 countries in January-March 2019).
