MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) - Belarus actively participates in North-South international transport corridor project, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich said at the international conference “Belarus’ capacity building for the Sustainable Development Goals: Strategies and partnerships in the context of modern challenges and climate agenda” in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone on 6 June, BelTA has learned.
"Thanks to the geo-economic realities, we have not only managed to reorient our exports from West to East but also expanded the geography of economic cooperation to the South," he said. "The Republic of Belarus is actively involved in the North-South international transport corridor project which has obvious advantages."
They include the possibility of joining international transport corridors, independence from the logistical constraints that Belarus is now facing in the western direction, significant reduction in transportation time and distance, and the multimodality of the corridor, Yuri Ambrazevich noted.
