MINSK, 8 May (BelTA) – The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is interested in acquiring Chinese experience of selling research products, BelTA learned from Alexander Sukalo, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).

“The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus sells its research products to European and Asian countries, but cooperation with Chinese colleagues could be very beneficial for expansion in this direction. We are interested in acquiring Chinese marketing and trade experience,” said Alexander Sukalo.

In his words, the Chinese scientific potential is of great interest for the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. “At present the Physics Technology Institute, the B.I. Stepanov Physics Institute, the New Materials Chemistry Institute, the Microbiology Institute, the Central Botanical Garden most actively cooperate with scientists and researchers from the People’s Republic of China. A number of projects of significance for both sides have been developed together,” stated the official.

“The development of the exchange of specialists continues for the sake of mutual benefits. Chinese specialists come to Belarus while Belarusian researchers visit China. In our age of Internet it may seem excessive but the establishment of personal contacts in the international academic environment greatly contributes to the establishment of friendly partnerships,” added Alexander Sukalo.

At present the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is implementing projects worth over $4 million in China. “It is a good figure but clearly insufficient. It fails to fully appreciate our potential. In my opinion, it is possible to raise it at least by ten times,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).
