“Representatives of the Hi-Tech Park of Belarus are attending the session. The program of the session features a presentation of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone that is of interest for the Austrian businessmen,” Mikhail Myatlikov noted.
He also pointed out that the Belarusian side sent a number of investment projects to the Austrian colleagues in early 2015. “Heads of some Austrian companies have come to Belarus to discuss the projects in detail,” Mikhail Myatlikov said.
He emphasized that the Belarus-Austria trade increases from year to year and has one characteristic feature. “If we consider our trade in goods and services separately, we will see that Belarus’ export of services including transport, tourism, and IT services is three times as large as that of goods. In 2014 our export of services to Austria went up by 21% as against 2013, which proves that we have good prospects for increasing our export not only in the field of material production but also in the sector of services,” Mikhail Myatlikov explained.
For his part, President of the Federation of Austrian Industry, Managing Director and Owner of Bertsch Holding GmbH, co-chair of the Austrian part of the business council Hubert Bertsch pointed out that the Belarus-Austria long-lasting cooperation is constantly expanding. “The population numbers in our countries are almost equal. It is particularly important that Belarusian people are highly educated. We should strengthen our ties with Belarus in order to use this country for further cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union and to help Belarusian businesses expand their presence in the European Union,” he said.
