MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) – Another eleven Belarusian companies will be supplying dairy products to China, BelTA learned from Aleksei Bogdanov, head of the main department for foreign economic affairs at the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
“Following a recent visit of Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats to China, yesterday another eleven dairy companies were granted access to the Chinese market, including Polotsk Milk Plant, Luninets Milk Plant, Belovezhskie Syry, Primemilk, and Vitebskoye Moloko. All in all, 47 companies have been authorized to sell into China to date,” Aleksei Bogdanov remarked.
Dairy products were the key driver behind the growth in Belarus’ agricultural exports to China in 2017, he added. “The export of Belarusian-made dairy products to China skyrocketed by ten times in January-October 2017 as against 2016 to reach $5.1 million. The companies affiliated with the Agriculture and Food Ministry sold $7.8 million worth of products into China in January-October 2017. In general, the Belarusian companies exported more than $15 million worth of food products. Belarus’ agricultural exports to China are expected to have grown by 3 to 4% in 2017,” the official remarked.
