Amkodor to expand cooperation with Perkins Engines to get access to EU market

MINSK, 15 December (BelTA) – Amkodor Holding Company and Perkins Engines have signed a memorandum of understanding, under which a part of equipment of the Belarusian company will be fitted with British engines. This will help the company get access to the EU market of special-purpose machinery, BelTA learned from the company.

The document was signed during the visit of the delegation of the Construction Equipment Association (CEA) to Belarus.

Amkodor fits its vehicles with engines of the Minsk Motor Plant which thanks to their reliability and high efficiency are popular with customers in the CIS and other neighboring countries. One of the tasks the Belarusian holding company is working on is to enter the markets of the European Union. For this, vehicles should be fitted with engines of Stage 4 Class and higher. Diesel motors of Perkins Engines meet the abovementioned requirements. Such engines will be installed on logging, road construction equipment, loaders and also other machinery envisaged for sale to the European Union. Perkins Engines has already shipped its motors for eight different vehicles of Amkodor. Further cooperation will depend on the sales in the EU.

Dave Robinson, Business Development Manager at Perkins Engines, named Amkodor a promising partner. This memorandum of understanding reaffirms our intention to develop long-term cooperation with Amkodor, he added.

Amkodor is one of the leading producers of special equipment in Belarus and the CIS. The Amkodor companies produce more than 5,000 special-purpose vehicles every year.

Perkins Engines Company Limited, a subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc., is primarily a diesel engine manufacturer for several markets including Agricultural, Construction, Material Handling, Power Generation and Industrial. The company’s annual output reaches 800,000 engines a year.
