MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Namibia to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Clemens Handuukeme Kashuupulwa in Moscow on 2 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

“The ambassadors discussed ways to intensify Belarus-Namibia relations. Dmitry Krutoi believes that trade and economic cooperation between the two countries has huge potential. He outlined areas where Belarus and Namibia could significantly ramp up cooperation. These are supplies of Belarusian agricultural equipment and medicines to Namibia, the introduction of the latest agricultural technologies, joint projects in energy and forestry,” the press service said.

Dmitry Krutoi invited the Namibian ambassador and delegation to visit the largest international events that are due to take place in Belarus - the MILEX 2023 arms and military equipment exhibition and the Belagro international agricultural fair.

“Clemens Handuukeme Kashuupulwa spoke highly of the level of Belarus-Namibia relations that are based on long-standing friendship and mutual respect. He said that the Namibian government is interested in developing multifaceted cooperation with Belarus,” the press service noted.

The diplomats agreed to fast-track work on bilateral agreements and outlined a number of joint activities that will help promote contacts in all areas.

“They reaffirmed the commitment of Belarus and Namibia to the formation of a fair multipolar world order, to the principles of the UN Charter on the sovereign equality of states, to strengthening international security and to peaceful resolution of conflicts,” the press service added.
