MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – On 15 April Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Aleinik met with Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Algeria Youcef Cherfa, who was appointed co-chairman of the Belarus-Algeria cooperation commission in trade, economy, science and technology, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The negotiations focused on bilateral projects in the agricultural sector and agricultural engineering, as well as the work of the joint commission, including the schedule of its meetings in the coming months. Youcef Cherfa accepted the invitation to visit Minsk in the near future to continue substantive negotiations.
The participants of the meeting came to terms regarding the certification of Belarusian dairy products for the Algerian market. The corresponding certificates were signed by the Algerian side and handed over to the Belarusian delegation following the negotiations. The Algerian ministry also transferred a draft document to certify Belarusian meat products for the country’s market.
