VERGIATE, 10 September (BelTA) – The Anglo-Italian multinational helicopter design and manufacturing company AgustaWestland shows interest in developing cooperation with Belarus, Belarusian Premier Andrei Kobyakov told media following his visit to the production areas of AgustaWestland, a subsidiary of Finmeccanica S.p.A., on 10 September, BelTA informs.
“AgustaWestland is interested in establishing cooperation with Belarus. We have agreed to organize a visit for our potential partners to Belarus,” said Andrei Kobyakov.
According to the PM, back in the Soviet Times Belarus produced a great variety of component parts, including navigation and radiolocation systems for the aerospace industry. “Today we are talking about Belarus’ inclusion into the production cooperation of Finmeccanica S.p.A.,” Andrei Kobyakov said.
AgustaWestland (AW) is the world’s leader in helicopter building, a subsidiary of Finmeccanica S.p.A. Founded in 2001, the company has been producing helicopters for both military and civil purposes. Its production areas and offices are located in Italy, the UK, Poland and the United States. In 2012 AgustaWestland netted €4.4 billion in profits. The company’s business portfolio is estimated at €4.5 billion.
