About 200 companies to take part in Energy Expo 2021

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – Some 200 companies are expected to take part in the 25th Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum (Energy Expo 2021) which is due to take place on 12-15 October, Belarusian Deputy Energy Minister Olga Prudnikova told the media in BelTA's press center on 5 October.

“This year the Belarusian energy system is celebrating its 90th anniversary. We direct all our efforts to make the anniversary forum a worthy and interesting event for all the participants. More than 200 organizations will take part in the forum and it will be actively covered in the media. We are set to discuss strategic areas for the development of the energy sector,” said Olga Prudnikova.

The participants of the meeting will discuss economic and environmental aspects of nuclear energy, prospects of green economy development, topical issues of energy efficiency and energy saving, opportunities for further development of electric transport in the country. Digitalization of the fuel and energy, industrial and petrochemical complexes will also be discussed. Special attention will be paid to the issues related to training and retraining of engineers for the fuel, energy and other industries. The forum will also comprise conferences, seminars, and round tables to present modern technological solutions in energy, petrochemistry, energy saving, and ecology.

“Significant changes are taking place in the fuel and energy balance of Belarus due to the commissioning of the first unit of the BelNPP. These are changes in the structure of electricity production at our sources, as well as the structure of consumption. Electricity comes in as the primary carrier for heating and hot water supply purposes. Electric transport, public and private, as well as car sharing (scooters, bicycles) services continue to develop. This requires us to develop the infrastructure, normative and legal regulation, and solve the issues of tariff policy,” the deputy energy minister said.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus takes a regular part in the forum, and this year is no exception. According to Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus Aleksandr Goroshko, taking part in the events are several subordinate organizations, including the Central Research Institute of Integrated Water Resources Use, the Belarusian National Research Center Ecology, the National Center for State Environmental Expertise and Professional Development of Managers and Specialists, the National Center for Hydrometeorology, Radioactive Pollution Control and Environmental Monitoring. “The collective exposition of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection will highlight presentations of technologies in environmental protection and rational use of natural resources, renewable energy, waste management. This year the ministry will also organize a scientific conference on green economy. The forum will become a unique platform for discussion of steps to improve the environmental policy,” he stressed.

According to Leonid Poleshchuk, Deputy Director of the Department of Energy Efficiency of the State Committee for Standardization, a roundtable will be held as part of the forum to discuss energy efficiency and integrated use of electricity for apartment buildings. “The implementation of Decree No.327 “On increasing the energy efficiency of apartment buildings” has begun quite successfully, with thermal modernization in progress,” he said.

The program of the forum includes international exhibitions Energy. Ecology. Energy Saving. Electro, Oil&Gas Technologies, Atomexpo-Belarus, ExpoSvet, Water and Air Technologies, ExpoCity and the 25th Belarusian Energy and Ecological Congress.

This year the exhibition will showcase the achievements of about 200 companies and organizations from seven countries. These are the leading enterprises of the energy and manufacturing industries of Belarus, as well as the world’s famous brands.

The forum will feature a contest of innovative and start-up projects, Belarus Energy Award 2021, and will also present the results of the national contest Energy Efficiency Leader 2021.

The Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum Energy Expo 2021 aims to promote innovative technologies and best practices in energy saving and energy efficiency in the fuel and energy complex and industry.
