MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) – Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Kunio Mikuriya praised the readiness of the Belarusian customs service to establish efficient cooperation with the customs services of other countries at the meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Belgium, Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the European Union Alexander Mikhnevich, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Kunio Mikuriya praised the readiness of the Belarusian customs service to establish efficient cooperation with other customs services and pointed out the importance of our country for the harmonization of integration processes from Lisbon to Vladivostok,” the press release of the press service reads.
At the meeting Ambassador Alexander Mikhnevich informed the WCO Secretary General about the main priorities of the Belarusian foreign policy and the achievements of the Belarusian customs service. The diplomat also expressed interest in enhancing cooperation between the State Customs Committee and the World Customs Organization.
At the end of the meeting the Ambassador invited Kunio Mikuriya to take part in the conference “Creation of conditions for the economic integration and sustainable development in the UNECE. Prospects till 2030” which will take place in Minsk in October 2016.
