MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – The BelNPP construction project complies with all international standards, Director of the Moscow Center of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) Vasily Aksenov said in an interview with Belarus 1 TV Channel, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus complies with absolutely every international standard formulated for the countries and companies that build and operate nuclear power plants. No problems have been identified during regular inspections. If questions arise, they are discussed and resolved promptly,” Vasily Aksenov noted.
He views the claims brought by Lithuania against the Belarusian NPP as groundless. According to Vasily Aksenov, the sides need to cooperate closely in nuclear energy.
The director of the WANO Moscow Center also highlighted that Belarus has done a lot to train the BelNPP specialists and set up a flexible system to attract highly qualified specialists from abroad. He was also pretty much impressed with the BelNPP construction site.
