MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Austria have established good investment cooperation, Chairman of the Permanent Commission on International Affairs of the National Assembly, Head of the Working Group of Cooperation with the Austrian Parliament and former Belarusian Ambassador to Austria Valery Voronetsky said when speaking at the function in the House of Friendship on 7 February to mark 25 years of the Belarusian-Austrian diplomatic relations, BelTA has learned.
Valery Voronetsky believes that the 25th anniversary is an important milestone in the bilateral relations between Belarus and Austria. He added that the history of the bilateral relations does not mean only these 25 years, they are far long-standing.
The chairman of the permanent commission stressed that Belarus and Austria are important partners to each other. Meetings between the presidents of the two countries, contacts between the governments and ministries of foreign affairs testify to the fact. Valery Voronetsky stressed that Belarus and Austria enjoy good investment cooperation. Belarusian products sell well through Austrian trading networks.
Belarus has been steadily developing its cultural contacts which bear great significance for the comprehensive cooperation between the two states.
The function at the House of Friendship was attended by officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Assembly, members of the Belarusian society of friendship and cultural ties with foreign countries, and also representatives of the Austria-Belarus friendship society.
