TASHKENT, 1 November (BelTA) – The agreements between Uzbekistan and Belarus will yield great results, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said as he met with Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Rumas in Tashkent on 1 November, BelTA has learned.
“All issues are solved taking each other's interests into account. So I think the results will be very strong," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The roadmap signed by the parties to develop bilateral cooperation will also be instrumental.
“We have actually ensured that the results of our negotiations with the Belarusian president do not remain on paper but are put into practice,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed.
In 2018 the trade between Belarus and Uzbekistan amounted to $157.4 million (up by 20.2% over 2017). In January-August 2019, the trade exceeded $150 million (up by 37.1% year-on-year). Belaurs’ major exports include trucks, farm machines, tractor spare parts, beef, milk powder, uncoated paper, medicines, petroleum products. Uzbekistan;s major imports to Belaurs are cotton yarn, fruits and vegetables, nuts, clothing, bedding and table linen, cables and wires.
