MOSCOW, 11 April (BelTA) – I am against the idea of mobilizing women into the army, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he talked to journalists upon arrival at the Kremlin, BelTA has learned.
The Russian journalists asked the head of state this question in connection with the idea of this kind announced earlier in Ukraine.
"Very negative [about the idea of mobilizing women]. Women should fly into space. If they really want to join the army, then it’s fine. Let them serve. But to force a woman, who is supposed to give birth, into the army, to her doom is complete stupidity. It's out of desperation. I am against it," the president said.
