MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – Russia and Belarus have been cooperating, closely and efficiently, in politics and economy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov said as he attended Alexander Lukashenko’s State of the Nation Address on 21 April, BelTA has learned.
“Our countries are closely interlinked and have been actively cooperating in every area,” the diplomat said.
In his state of the nation the head of state paid special attention to the ties with Russia, and drew attention to the importance of maintaining and developing contacts with Russian regions. “Russia is our ally and partner. Our great interests lie with Russia,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
