MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) - The international community has welcomed the organizational role of Belarus in resolving the conflict in Ukraine, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov told a press conference, BelTA has learned.

The whole world has welcomed the organizational role of Belarus because it is the most convenient platform, said Alexander Surikov.

"It has boosted the prestige of Belarus on the international arena," the diplomat stressed.

The contact group was able to set up four working group that began to discuss certain topics, the ways out of the situation in keeping with the Minsk accords, and this is the undisputed success, Alexander Surikov noted.

According to the diplomat, meetings in Minsk on the Ukrainian conflict should be continued despite the complexity of the negotiation process and the ceasefire violations in the south-east of Ukraine, which have been registered lately. "These meetings should be continued. You need to be able to talk in any situation. Even if sometimes there are failures, you still need to talk. This is better than war,” the Ambassador said.
