Shchekin: Belarus is becoming a fulcrum in the Eurasian space by bolstering ties with world powers

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – The visits of the Chinese and Indian Presidents to Belarus and the building up of cooperation with these world powers have enhanced Belarus’ status across all positions. Moreover, Belarus is becoming a kind of an economic and political fulcrum in the Eurasian space, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Nikolai Shchekin told BelTA.

Belarus has always showed its openness and readiness for an equal dialogue. “The policy of some ‘democratic’ countries towards Belarus has proved inefficient and shortsighted. I would even say it looks pathetic in the light of the recent visits of the Chinese and Indian leaders, representatives of political, business and scientific communities of the world powers,” Nikolai Shchekin added.

“The development of relations with the two world leaders is of utmost significance for Belarus. It is extremely beneficial, too. Belarus’ importance as a transit country and a logistic center in the Eurasian space has increased multifold. It is great that our strategic partners have seen the value of the reliability and stability of the Belarusian political and economic course,” Nikolai Shchekin said.
