MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) - The Sail of Shanghai 2018 forum in Minsk will promote the implementation of joint projects, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Population, Resources and Environment at the Political Consultative Conference of the Shanghai Administration Lin Xiang said at he spoke at the trade and economic forum on 10 September, BelTA has learned.
The Chinese representative believes that, taking into account the current good Belarusian-Chinese ties, new joint projects, including with Shanghai businessmen, have great prospects. He stressed that since 2016 Shanghai has been organizing onsite trade and economic events, including the Sail of Shanghai forum that promotes the implementation of the Belt and Road concept.
According to Belarus’ Deputy Economy Minister Dmitry Matusevich, Belarus and China have new opportunities for mutually beneficial ties. In his words, today China is Belarus’ third biggest trading partner. Great results were reached in expanding Chinese direct investment that helps implement a lot of joint projects. He named the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone among the most important joint projects.
The event has gathered more than 130 Belarusian and Chinese companies who would like to cooperate more closely in the fields of engineering, construction, information technology, chemical industry, environmental protection, light industry, food, jewelery production.
Minsk is hosting the Chinese manufacturers of electronics and household appliances, clothes and textiles, packaging for the medical equipment, cosmetics, toys, ornaments, as well as importers of cars, electrical and welding equipment, computer equipment who interested in finding business partners in Belarus.
Attending the event are representatives of the government bodies of the two countries: the committee at the Political Consultative Conference of the Shanghai Administration, the economy Ministry of Belarus, Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, Chinese Embassy in Belarus.
The participants of the event are considering the Chinese market access algorithms, the delivery of goods and ways of minimizing costs in transportation and other relevant issues of the export of Belarusian goods in China.
During the B2B negotiations Belarusian companies present their projects and proposals to Chinese partners.
