VITEBSK, 14 July (BelTA) – The International Festival of Arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk promotes trust and understanding among the Slavic peoples, reads the message of greetings to the 25th International Festival of Arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk from Russian President Vladimir Putin, BelTA has learned.
Russian Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky read out the greetings from the President at the opening of the festival. “I warmly greet you on the occasion of the opening of the Festival of Arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk. It is for the 25th time that Vitebsk has welcomed talented artists, musicians and performers from different countries, becoming a venue for art and friendship. By tradition, the Slavonic Bazaar program is very eventful and diverse. It includes concerts and contests, exhibitions and theatrical performances, holiday festivities. Such a large-scale cultural event will undoubtedly contribute to the spiritual unity of the Slavic peoples, strengthen trust and understanding between them. Its importance for the development of international humanitarian cooperation could not be overestimated, and, of course, of particular value are the organizers’ efforts aimed at supporting gifted young people who make their first steps into the world of big art. I am sure that this year’s festival will be bright and spectacular, will give participants and audiences the most positive and memorable experiences.
