Press secretary: Lukashenko gets a host of birthday greetings this year

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) - In an interview to Belarus TV Channel Press Secretary of the Belarusian President Natalya Eismont spoke about a great amount of birthday greetings and well wishes Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko received this year and thanked everyone on his behalf, BelTA has learned.

“This year the head of state has received an incredible amount of birthday greetings and well wishes from a great number of people, from famous, media persons to ordinary Belarusians. A lot of greetings came from our compatriots as well as from our neighbors and faraway countries,” Natalya Eismont said. According to her, the president got written messages, phone calls, poems, postcards, photos, drawings - millions of greetings and millions of kind words.

“We told the president about all the greetings,” the press secretary said. “The president said that it was necessary to respond to every birthday greeting, of course. One should always say ‘thank you’. I would like to express my deepest gratitude, on behalf of the president, to all those who addressed kind words and warmest wishes.”
