MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – Political stability and well-coordinated work of all the branches of power are a key to the successful development of the country, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed the new and outgoing MPs of the House of Representatives and member of the Council of the Republic on 5 December, BelTA has learned.
“Today everyone understands that the key to the successful development of the country is, first of all, political stability and well-coordinated work of all the branches of power: parliament, government and courts. Where it does not exist, there is no peace, no consent, no economy, no welfare,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
In his words, the new parliament should become a center of progressive lawmaking. It is necessary to be guided by two rules in order to achieve this goal. “First of all, new amendments and laws should reflect the real needs of our citizens. We should do everything to make life better. We must use laws for this purpose. Secondly, the outcomes of any changes in the legislation should be analyzed and calculated for several years to come so that people could see where we are going and what we want to achieve,” said the head of state.
The president added that in the near future MPs and senators will have to work together to address the most important and relevant issues for the society, which means they are priority goals of the state policy.
