MINSK, 13 October (BelTA) – Belarus has a lot to offer the European Union in terms of trade, Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Boleslav Pirshtuk told the media on 13 October, BelTA has learned.
The Vice Speaker expressed confidence that Belarus needs to continue to build good relations with the EU while advancing its own interests. “We need to be more aggressive in positioning ourselves. We have a lot to offer, to show and to sell,” Boleslav Pirshtuk said.
“Politics and economy are interconnected. One thing does not happen without the other. The task of the MPs is to combine all this into a single whole and get the result we are aiming for,” the Vice Speaker noted.
Situated in the center of Europe, Belarus should play an important role in the region. Belarus deserves to be properly represented in all European institutions and organizations, the Vice Speaker believes.
As was reported, Boleslav Pirshtuk was elected Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives on 13 October. He was nominated by Speaker Vladimir Andreichenko. 105 MPs out of 109 members present voted to support his candidature.
