MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – Pakistan is interested in broad cooperation with Belarusian institutions of higher education, Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training of Pakistan Muhammad Baligh Ur Rekhman said during his visit to the Belarusian State Technological University, BelTA has learned.
“During the current visit we pay special attention to cooperation areas in higher education. Today Pakistan trains its postgraduates mainly in the United States and the UK. The Belarusian State Technological University stands out with the level of training specialists in technological majors. We will consider cooperation in sending our postgraduates to the Belarusian National Technological University,” the Pakistani Minister said.
Rector of the Belarusian university Igor Voitov told the foreign guests about the university training of specialists. The Pakistani delegation was interested in the work of the educational, scientific and manufacturing cluster, a so-called vocational school-college-university set. The cluster provides a high level of training, Igor Voitov stressed. The guests were also shown university laboratories and samples of the university's innovative solutions.
The Belarusian State Technological University and Chohan Group (Punjab Province) are currently setting up the Belarusian-Pakistani center on technologies and goods marketing. Apart from that, the university offers exclusive education programs in 18 areas of national economy. The university will mull over cooperation with departments of Pakistani universities. There are projects in space technology, fiber optic, sewage cleaning technologies, medical technologies. The Belarusian State Technological University has also offered an earthquake warning project.
Muhammad Baligh Ur Rekhman was awarded with a gown and diploma of the Honorary Doctor of the Belarusian State Technological University.
