Opinion: Ukrainians will always be a brotherly nation for Belarusians

MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – The Ukrainians will always be a brotherly nation for us, Oleg Gaidukevich, a member of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus, told reporters, BelTA has learned.

“The Ukrainian people will always be a fraternal nation to the Belarusian people. We will never turn our backs on them,” said Oleg Gaidukevich.

The parliamentarian noted that Belarus will keep carrying out its three missions. “First, our soldiers did not participate and will not participate in the special operation. Our task is to protect the state border, maintain the security of the country and prevent a strike on Russia. Second, we have done a lot to facilitate the peace talks. And the third mission is humanitarian and we will stick to it,” he stressed.

“Attempts to alienate the Belarusians and the Ukrainians will fail. It will not happen. The Ukrainian people know that Belarusians are a brotherly nation. We have always extended a helping hand. People of different ethnicities will always feel at home here,” Oleg Gaidukevich added.
