MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian Telegraph Agency BelTA, which is turning 100 this year, is at the forefront of technological and creative progress, TASS Director General Sergei Mikhailov told the media during the 24^th meeting of the CIS Mass Media Heads Council (the CIS Information Council) in Minsk on 19 April, BelTA has learned.

Assessing the work of the Belarusian colleagues, Sergei Mikhailov said that BelTA has a lot to be proud of. “The 100^th anniversary shows that it is one of the leading news agencies providing fast-coverage services, that it is at the forefront of technological and creative progress,” he said.

TASS has close ties with the Belarusian Telegraph Agency, the director general said. “The agencies have common roots, which has an impact on our activity, our friendship. We will always stay friends, ready to help each other. We always do our best to solve emerging issues and help our counterparts. We get the same in return,” added Sergei Mikhailov.
