MINSK, 26 May (BelTA) – The opening of the Azerbaijani trading house in Minsk will help us increase our mutual trade, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media on 26 May, BelTA has learned.
“The opening of the trading house of Azerbaijan in Belarus will contribute to the effort to step up our trade and make it more balanced to prevent one-way movement of goods from Belarus to Azerbaijan or in a reverse direction,” Vladimir Makei said.
He emphasized the importance of the fact that Belarus has become the first country to have an Azerbaijani trading house. “We are very glad that this has happened in Belarus,” the minister noted.
Vladimir Makei stressed that the opening of the trading house is a logical result of the active dialogue that the countries have been maintaining at different levels. “A lot has been done: there is a joint venture for the production of our machinery in Azerbaijan, and we have Belarusian trading houses there. By the way, Belarusian products are popular in this country. The opening of the trading house in Belarus is a step forward. I am confident that it will lead to qualitative and quantitative development of our cooperation. This is a direct channel for the supply of various Azerbaijani products to Belarus,” the minister said. He noted that the trading house offers a wide choice of products, and that Azerbaijani goods are already popular with Belarusian people.
