The two countries need to deal with some serious matters; discussions never stop, which is also good. “However, we should avoid all kinds of barriers. We should compete on the common market of Belarus and Russia, however, this competition should be healthy,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
The speaker urged to join efforts while working with third countries. “We need joint ventures, sci-tech projects. If we have solid joint business, we will have good results,” he is convinced.
Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko noted that interregional contacts make a meaningful contribution to cooperation between the two countries and the Union State development. She urged the participants of the meeting to discuss issues that might impede contacts and to put forward proposals on harmonizing the legislations with a view to creating most favorable terms for business and investment.
During the meeting the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus presented a multi-volume facsimile edition of The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna to the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
The ongoing forum prioritizes the humanitarian agenda, with a major focus on the youth policy. These matters are very important for the Union State construction. The participants of the forum noted that the forum turned into a successful integration project. A testimony to that is an interest in this format of cooperation on the part of partners from the CIS and Europe.
