SOCHI, 17 September (BelTA) – The industrial potential of Belarus and Russia is huge, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko said at the opening of the joint Belarusian-Russian industrial exhibition in Sochi on 17 September, BelTA has learned.
According to Valentina Matviyenko, “the expo is a real show of new high-tech products developed in close cooperation of Belarus and Russia.” “On display is a wide range of products, from household appliances to farm machinery,” she added.
In her words, the exposition proves the Belarusian-Russian successful industrial integration. About 8,000 companies of the two countries are involved in joint cooperation projects.
“This exposition of high-technology products gives confidence that we will be able to overcome all the current economic difficulties,” Valentina Matviyenko said.
The Belarusian-Russian industrial exhibition is underway in Sochi as part of the Second Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia. Valentina Matviyenko is confident that the forum is popular as the number of its participants has doubled since the first event. It is expected that a number of joint agreements will be signed at the forum to foster cooperation between the two countries. “I am confident that the Second Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will give a new agenda to strengthen bilateral ties,” the Speaker said.
