MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) - The European Union countries view Belarus as an open and reliable partner, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media following a meeting with Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor-Viorel Melescanu, BelTA has learned.
“In the new political realities our colleagues from the European Union countries, including Romania, see Belarus as an open and reliable partner and are ready for the joint search of new forms of cooperation,” Vladimir Makei said.
According to him, progress in cooperation between Minsk and Brussels is noticeable. “We are grateful to the Romanian side, the leadership of Romania for the pragmatic position regarding the relations between Belarus and the European Union,” the minister noted.
For his part, Teodor-Viorel Melescanu said that his country has supported and will support the development of cooperation between Belarus and the EU. “We welcome the openness in these relations,” he said.
