MINSK, 3 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to the participants of the celebrations of the 135th anniversary of the birth of renowned writer, people’s poet of Belarus, classic of the national and world literature Yakub Kolas, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“One of the founders of modern fiction and the author of famous poems, he became a true people’s writer and poet, a symbol of grandeur and cultural wealth of the nation. A talented master of word described the most elevated feelings of people, wisdom and the best features of character of Belarusians, sincere love for the Belarusian language,” the message of greetings reads.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that the life and literary work of Yakub Kolas is an example of selfless service to people and the Fatherland. His creative legacy is by right considered the source of spirituality and inspiration for many generations.
“I am convinced that the celebrations will help preserve and promote the national culture, strengthen the unity of the society, and support new bright literary talents,” the president remarked.
