MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent a letter of birthday greetings to Metropolitan Filaret, Patriarchal Exarch Emeritus of All Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

For many years Metropolitan Filaret has been doing his best to promote eternal verities and the transforming power of Christianity, instill creative faith and sincere love in people. “Being committed to the ideals of peace, justice and humanism, you have a strong influence on the improvement of the moral state of the society today,” the President noted.

Alexander Lukashenko wished Metropolitan Filaret strong health and emotional wellbeing. “May your care, life experience, and prayers help us in all undertakings,” the head of state said.
