MINSK, 1 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko visited boarding school of general education No. 13 for hearing-impaired children in Minsk on 1 September, BelTA has learned.
First-grade students asked the head of state about his dream. Alexander Lukashenko said: “I have many dreams, but at the moment I have one: I want the children like you to live with us in the society and feel comfortable. I do not think of you as people with disabilities. Nothing of the kind. You are only a bit different from us. I have made sure of this today.”
According to the President, one of the priorities for the state is to improve the living conditions of children with special needs.
Special boarding school of general education No. 13 for hearing-impaired children was founded in February 1963. As many as120 hearing-impaired children study in the school.
