MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to people living in Grodno Oblast on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the region, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“The contemporary history of the region begins on 20 September 1944 when a region with a center in the ancient town of Grodno was formed in the hardest time after Belarus’ liberation from Nazi invaders. Your productive work and sincere love for your native land helped restore the region from post-war ruins, turn it into a wonderful and prosperous region which makes the entire country proud,” the message of greetings reads.
The head of state emphasized that Grodno Oblast is famous for its traditions relying on diligence, hospitality and kindness. “Since ancient times, this land has belonged to energetic, courageous, ambitious, creative and talented people,” he noted.
“Thanks to consistently great achievements in agriculture, Grodno Oblast has become one of the leaders in food production and an example for Belarusian agrarians. Your contribution to the preservation of the national spiritual, historical and cultural legacy, development of the industrial and tourism potential of the country is invaluable,” the president said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed confidence that energy, perseverance and commitment will help Grodno Oblast residents fulfill ambitious plans and reach important goals for the benefit of the native country in the future.
The head of state wished people living in Grodno Oblast every success, strong health, happiness, peace and wellbeing.
