GRODNO, 2 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko attended a capsule laying ceremony at the construction site of a new hospital in Grodno on 2 April, BelTA has learned.
According to the head of state, both the text in the capsule and also all the numerous facilities built and modernized over the years of independence make up a message to the descendants. “This is a message to the future,” he said.
“We want Belarusians to live, start families, study, work, and rest in beautiful, cozy and comfortable towns and villages. We are doing our best to ensure everyone has an opportunity to get a good education in the first place,” the president said.
Sometimes, however, Belarusians have to create not thanks to but in spite of life circumstances.
“Taking care of children, grandchildren, all those who will continue our line, all those who will come after us is the essence of today's moment and the essence of the idea behind today's event,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
He is convinced that in some 50-100 years, given the development of information technologies, the next generations will know everything and even more about the present one. “But will this knowledge be true? Will the Belarusians of the future see our true intentions in the vast sea of information? That is why we are leaving a message here. It contains our sincere hopes, and all of them are dictated by the desire for peace and creation,” the head of state said.
This solemn ceremony can also be considered a message to the neighboring countries of Belarus. “We are now digging the land, just like them, very close to the border. But our goals are completely different. They dig trenches against tanks and other hardware, increase spending on strike weapons. We spend two-thirds of the region's budget on social welfare. We want to build our own peaceful future. We stay committed to creation,” the president emphasized.
Belarus has big plans, and they will be implemented, the head of state said. “We will do a lot more with you, and the main thing is that we must ensure our children do even more on the basis that we have created. We must lay the groundwork for our children’s future,” the president said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko called the healthcare facility which construction is underway in Grodno a facility of strategic importance with flexible functionality. The hospital will feature four wings, each of which will be possible to isolate if necessary. The working mode of medical institutions during the coronavirus pandemic has been taken into account.
“Everything is well-thought here: the hospital will boast modern conditions, convenient access for residents of neighboring regions,” the head of state added.
