MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian army is not taking part in the Russian special operation in the Donbass, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at an operational meeting with the military in Minsk on 24 February, BelTA has learned.
"They said that ‘at about 5a.m. the state border of Ukraine with Russia and Belarus was attacked by Russian troops that are supported by Belarus.’ Scumbags! Our troops are not taking any part in this operation,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
At the same time, the head of state said: "We will not make excuses about our involvement or noninvolvement in this conflict. I repeat: our troops are not there. But if such need arises, if Belarus and Russia need this, they will be there."
