MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) – Around 2,500 questions were addressed to the Belarusian head of state ahead of The Big Conversation with the President. Following Alexander Lukashenko’s instruction, the work with them is under special control of the President Administration, head of the administration Natalya Kochanova told BelTA.
According to her, all the questions from an audience and those submitted by text, electronic mail, telephone have been systematized. They are on-sent to agencies for further consideration and action. Thus, the letters touching upon the national-level issues are forwarded to the Council of Ministers, relevant ministries and committees. Accordingly, local issues are addressed to regional and city authorities (more than 40% of the total number of letters). “I would like to stress that, as the head of state said, no letter will remain unattended and unresponded,” Natalya Kochanova assured.
She also noted that media outlets are providing an extensive coverage of this work. Local authorities must update the applications on the progress. Systemic issues will be covered in the president's address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly.
The preliminary analysis of the letters showed that people are mostly concerned with wages, pensions, family capital program, benefits for certain categories of citizens, state-sponsored housing construction, compensation for cash deposits of the Soviet period and also the lack of effective measures aimed at the dynamic and homogeneous development of the regions. Questions concerning law enforcement activities accounted for approximately 10%.
Part of letters asked personal questions. Many of them came from abroad. People inquired about the Belarusian president’s preferences in culture, literature, etc., and approved of the foreign and domestic policies pursued by the Belarusian head of state.
