MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian media market is big enough for people to be able to get objective information, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Kochanova told journalists, BelTA has learned.
She believes that there are quite a big number of media companies in Belarus, and it is important that the media provide unbiased information to the audience.
Natalia Kochanova noted that the best way is to monitor different media, watch news broadcasts, and read newspapers. “Unfortunately, sometimes it happens that the conveyed information is biased, that statements are taken out of context to stir a debate. There are state-owned media that get information directly from the government agencies and covey it to the audience,” she stressed.
Natalia Kochanova added that she would like to see more programs for children, programs and articles about Belarusian cities, tourist sites, and infrastructure, as this is important for the development of tourism and promotion of Belarus’ positive image.
