MOSCOW, 13 April (BelTA) – The implementation of Belarusian initiatives in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) helps create the foundation for further development of integration, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Moscow on 13 April, BelTA has learned.
“I would like to thank every one of you for all-round support of Belarus as EEU Chairman in 2015. The implementation of our initiatives helps create the necessary base for further development of Eurasian integration,” Andrei Kobyakov said addressing the EEU Prime Ministers.
The Belarusian Prime Minister noted that the EEU is currently busy with its efforts on the external outline, both in the eastern and Western vectors. “With only one year of the EEU operation passed we see how the union has been acquiring a shape of not simply an integration association. It is the right direction. The world has already divided into blocs. We are surrounded by countries and associations with strong economy. The number one goal for the EEU is to take its decent place among them,” said Andrei Kobyakov.
However, in order to get off the ground, the EEU needs a solid foundation inside the union, Andrei Kobyakov believes. That is why the Eurasian Economic Commission should be guided by a succession principle in addressing various issues.
