Joint cultural projects to advance Belarus-Liechtenstein cooperation

MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) – Joint cultural projects will make a tangible contribution to the advancement of Belarus-Liechtenstein bilateral relations. The opinion was voiced by Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei as an exhibition of works by the 19th century painter Johann Ludwig Bleuler was opened in the National Art Museum of Belarus on 2 May, BelTA has learned. Titled as The Rhine Journey, the exhibition uses works borrowed from the National Museum of Liechtenstein.

Vladimir Makei stressed that there are good prospects and a serious potential for further advancement of Belarus-Liechtenstein contacts.

Director General of the National Art Museum Vladimir Prokoptsov, Director of the National Museum of Liechtenstein Rainer Vollkommer, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Belarus, representatives of cultural and academic circles also took part in the presentation.

The exhibition in the National Art Museum of Belarus has been organized in response to an exhibition of Belarusian icons of the 17-19th centuries, which is scheduled to take place in the National Museum of Liechtenstein on 27 March – 10 June. The icons were lent by the National Art Museum of Belarus.

The exhibition project has been arranged with assistance of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Belarus in Switzerland. It is timed to the 300th anniversary of the Principality of Liechtenstein and the 80th anniversary of the National Art Museum of Belarus.
