DZERZHINSK DISTRICT, 12 April (BelTA) – The state will continue guaranteeing the first employment to university graduates, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he visited the ground control center of the national satellite communication and broadcast system in Dzerzhinsk District, Minsk Oblast on 12 April, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Lukashenko talked with the staff of the center and promised that the government will continue paying close attention to social issues, including youth employment and the creation of new jobs. However, he noted that the situation on the labor market is rather complicated.

The President said that close attention was paid to the matter during the recent discussion about the pension reform. “I have made a definite decision that the first employment will be provided to graduates of all universities, public and private. We will stick to this policy. We should help young educated people with employment,” the head of state stressed.

As for new jobs, Alexander Lukashenko noted: “When we made the decision to increase the retirement age, we were perfectly aware that this would require additional jobs. This is why this year we have decided to create more than 50,000 jobs. It is possible that you will have to create new jobs here.”

“We will demand this, in every possible way and regardless of any market principles, from executives and will enable conditions for private businesses to create jobs,” the President emphasized.
