BERLIN, 19 January (BelTA-TASS) – The German Federal Foreign Office believes that achieving progress in fulfilling the Minsk agreements on Ukraine is important instead of discussing the venue for future consultations. The statement was made by the Federal Foreign Office spokesman Rainer Breul on 19 January, BelTA has learned.
The official said: “I don’t want to evaluate individual proposals. What helps advance the crisis resolution is important for us. Where it will be done is a minor matter.”
The possibility of relocating negotiations on the Donbass situation from Minsk to another place was mentioned during the meeting of U.S. President Donald Trump and his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev when the latter visited Washington on 16 January. According to Nursultan Nazarbayev, they said that Minsk 1 is stuck and Minsk 2 is necessary.
