MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) - Minsk will make every effort to help resolve the conflict in the east of Ukraine, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media, BelTA has learned.

“We are ready to do everything to make sure the solution is found in Minsk. But actually it does not matter where it happens. It can be any place, even Antarctica. But it is important to have a clear understanding that there is a political will to resolve the conflict on the part of all parties involved,” Vladimir Makei said when asked whether the conflict in the east of Ukraine can be resolved in Minsk.

The other day the Belarusian president clearly said that Belarus is prepared to make every effort to make sure peace is restored in the east of Ukraine as soon as possible. Belarus does not accept any theoretical reasoning that one must have strategic patience, that “things will somehow sort themselves out”. We need to act now, immediately, the minister added.
