MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) - Despite the complicated geopolitical situation, Belarus and China have never weakened the pace of bilateral cooperation, which continues to prove its worth, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said at an event held on 24 September to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, BelTA has learned.

“China is not just a partner country for Belarus, with which it has diplomatic and trade relations,” Nikolai Snopkov said. “We are ‘iron-clad brothers,’ and we have repeatedly confirmed genuine and sincere friendship based on trust, mutual assistance and unwavering support of mutual interests.”

He went on saying: “Our countries have established the highest level of relations in history - all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership. A strong and sincere friendship binds the leaders of Belarus and China.”

“Minsk and Beijing cherish the historical memory of the years of struggle against fascism and militarism. We are united in our views on the current political situation and the future world order,” the first deputy prime minister said. “Belarus and China provide each other with unconditional support in issues of fundamental interests. We are actively promoting the global agenda on international and regional platforms. We are implementing global initiatives for the benefit of the peoples of all countries,” he said.

“Despite the complicated geopolitical situation, Belarus and China have never weakened the pace of bilateral cooperation. It continues to prove its worth. The greatest changes in a century, as Chinese friends say, do nothing but contribute to the unity of our countries. We keep on moving forward,” Nikolai Snopkov said.

He continued: “An unprecedentedly high level of political trust has been achieved between our countries. This is the level we should strive  for in other areas of cooperation. This is the task set before us today by the leaders of Belarus and China, which is to raise economic and investment cooperation to meet the level of political cooperation.”

“To achieve this goal, the governments have defined the core task for the medium term, which is a large inflow of Chinese technologies to Belarus. We see the development of our country in conjunction with the concept of China's new productive forces based on technology, innovation and human potential,” the first deputy prime minister said, quoting the Belarusian president’s words which will never lose their relevance: “With a strong China, Belarus will be strong too”.

According to Nikolai Snopkov, with new strength, new ideas on further deepening of Belarusian-Chinese interaction the two countries will be able to implement the current agreements and, as Premier of the State Council Li Qiang said, agree on a new package of cooperation.

“Let Belarus and China continue to go hand in hand, demonstrating to the whole world an example of true fraternal friendship and exemplary cooperation, beyond time, geographical distance and external influence,” the first vice premier said.
