MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) - Export remains an absolute priority for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik said as he opened a seminar with heads of diplomatic missions in Minsk on 24 July, BelTA has learned.
"Export remains an absolute priority for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Belarusian diplomatic missions. This has always been so. This task is strategic for us. The merchandise trade rose by 13.9% in January-May of this year but we should not let our guard down in any way. With commodity prices falling around the world, the task of achieving the annual forecast indicators requires the closest attention, painstaking work and, possibly, new approaches," Sergei Aleinik noted.
According to him, diplomats need to make maximum use of all opportunities and reserves to achieve the goals.
"I am convinced that, with all the experience that we gained in recent years, we will cope with these and many other tasks. The success of our foreign policy tactics and strategy will largely depend on you," the minister added.
The seminar with the heads of diplomatic missions in Minsk will be running for a week. The diplomats will take part in meetings with deputy prime ministers, representatives of the ministries of industry, agriculture and food, Belneftekhim and Bellesbumprom concerns, major enterprises of the country, resident companies of the Hi-Tech Park and the Great Stone industrial park.
