MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – It is very important for athletes that their hard work and achievements are recognized at the national level, four-time Olympic champion, Hero of Belarus Darya Domracheva told journalists on 29 March, BelTA informs.
“It is always a pleasure to take part in such ceremonies. It is great that our hard work throughout the season is recognized. It is very important for us,” the athlete remarked. “Today I still cannot fully grasp the importance of these awards and titles. I do realize their value to some extent but I will probably fully understand it over the years, when I become a grandmother telling the grandchildren about my achievements,” she said.
The biathlon season ended virtually some days ago, Darya Domracheva recalled. She said she still feels tired after all the long races but today she is in a festive mood.
BelTA reported earlier that Darya Domracheva had received the Order for Personal Courage in recognition of her high professional skills and outstanding achievements. The same awards and the Honored Master of Sport of Belarus titles have beenbestowed upon Olympic champions Dinara Alimbekova, Irina Krivko and Nadezhda Skardino.
