MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) - Any decisions beneficial to one country only are a ticking bomb for the Eurasian integration, Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives Andrei Savinykh told BelTA.

The MP noted that the position that President Aleksandr Lukashenko once again outlined today at a meeting with the EEC board chairman, sets the principles for the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union in the long-term perspective. “Belarus proposes to come to terms on the rules of the game for the EAEU members. They will be the same for all, and make the basis of our co-existence in economic, political, social and other areas. Any imbalances, short-term decisions beneficial to one party only, are a time bomb for the Eurasian integration. In this case, we will never achieve a sustainable result in the long-term perspective,” Andrei Savinykh said.

In this regard, Belarus’ integration approaches are the most meaningful and should be used to build a strong and sustainable union which will ensure the prosperity of all the peoples that are part of it in the future. This approach is important because it lays the foundation for the existence of the EAEU not even for decades, but for centuries to come," he continued.

The situation in the world does not instill optimism. “The number of local conflicts will be increasing. The world is divided into different poles of power. This process will be accompanied by serious economic shocks and crises. In such circumstances, the quality of integration decisions will have a profound impact on our ability to cope with these challenges. The Belarusian leader, who is a statesman with a vision, wants to lay a solid foundation for our common home from the very beginning,” the MP said.
