MOGILEV, 12 October (BelTA) – Cooperation in agriculture is the most sensitive issue in trade with Russia, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a plenary session of the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Mogilev on 12 October, BelTA has learned.
“Lifting restrictions in mutual trade and ensuring equal conditions for economic entities remain our major goal. The most sensitive issue is cooperation in agriculture,” Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said.
Belarus President stressed that Belarusians have a reputation of reliable partners in many Russian regions. “Joint work to improve the quality of exported food products is often replaced by restrictions. But, prior to this forum, we eventually reached an agreement on the ways to overcome such problems. The agreement was clear and was supported by the governments of the two countries,” the head of state noted.
“I wish that the presidents of Russia and Belarus were less involved in solving the problems that should be addressed at the level of governments, agencies, ministries and regions,” the Belarusian leader added.
